A MESSAGE FROM THE WOODLAND INDIAN COUNCIL

THE Grand Encampment V, Stony Creek Metro Park, Shelby Twp., MI

July 9th, 10th, & 11th, 2010.

Were you here in 2004 for THE Grand Encampment 2? If not, you can't afford to miss it again. THE Grand Encampment Council of the French and Indian War would like to Invite ALL of our Woodland Indian allies to join us at this GRAND event, at a truly GRAND site. The lake, the woods, the rolling hills, all awesome enough for us to come back to one more time. Come help your Native brothers battle against the French and British. We're planning battle scenarios with a strong Native presence. Come enjoy the Native camp and lifestyle. The more participants we have, the better the camp will be. Come visit with Re-enactor friends old and new. There will be water borne tacticals, so bring a period appropriate canoe if you have one. If not, perhaps you can hook up with someone who does, and join in the fun. Please be sure to make certain all of your lodging, camp items, personal gear, weapons, musical instruments, ETC are all appropriate for the F & I time frame. Also, make sure your firearms have flash-guards and hammer-stalls. Safety for you, other re-enactors and the general public is of the utmost importance for our hobby. Safety rules and regulations will be forwarded with your registration packet. Your registration for this GRAND event can be submitted electronically, or printed and mailed if you or someone you know doesn't have internet access. Please be sure to submit photos of all registrants in your best Woodland Indian gear. Photos of you with your camp set-up would be even better. Start planning now! If you've been considering new clothing, or gear, or lodging, get to work on it over the winter! Help us move up to the next level of authenticity!

Check back at the website often for updates, and/or new news. And don't forget to pass this information on to your re-enactor friends, and those who want to come visit and see what life was really like during the French and Indian War!

But most importantly, don't be one of the people who say to themselves, “I wish I would have been there".....

PLEASE NOTE!
